About our Issue Teams
Below are a few steps to help you get started with an Issue Team.
Our Issue Teams are the core of our member-driven organization, amplifying community voices and supporting key issues. Have an idea for a new team? Contact us to get started.

You will then be directed to our member form. After you go through the vetting process you will be notified via email and can then join an Issue Team.

Yes, we know that this isn’t for everyone. But we try to keep info on our website to keep you informed as well as an archive to our newsletters.

View the list of our Issue Teams below. Once your membership application is approved you can join as many or as few as you have time for (although we recommend only joining 1–2). Don’t see one that speaks to you? We are happy to work with you to start your own group.

Set a meeting date and time. Discuss group agreements and goals of the group. Turn those goals into actions.

Work with your team to create action items we can share with our entire membership. The larger group is here to amplify your voice into action. We are stronger together.
Issue Teams

Environment Team
Meets every other Wednesday in Live Oak
Educate ourselves and others on key issues, both local and federal. Get involved by volunteering, donating to campaigns, and lobbying our representatives using our social networks.

Economy Team
Meets every other Wednesday in Scotts Valley
Researching economic issues from the administration affecting our county and brainstorming actions to counter and educate the public on the local harm caused.

Immigration Team
Meets once a week on Sunday in Live Oak
Focus on coordinating with City and County agencies, local nonprofits, and activist groups to support immigrant communities affected by deportation. Active in pressuring electeds to fight against inhumane actions and deportations.

Civil Rights Team
Meets every 2–3 weeks in downtown Santa Cruz
Plans actions against the Trump administration’s Project 2025 civil rights violations.

Health and Human Services Team
Meets every 2 weeks in Live Oak
Collaborative outreach to community organizations, biomedical researchers, and healthcare organizations.

Education Team
Meets once a month on Tuesday evenings in Santa Cruz
Focus on educating the public about how the Federal Government administration's cuts and policies affect our county schools negative influences on DEI, protections for LGBTQ and immigrant students.

Media and Communication (MAC) Team
Meets twice a month on Thursday evenings
Focus on onboarding new ISCC members and combating misinformation on social media and monitoring local media.

Indivisible California State Strong (CASS)
Meets on the first Monday of the month on Zoom
Focus on support statewide legislation with larger network of CA Indivisible groups.
