Let Gaza Swim - A Red Line in the Sand Event

  • Main Beach By Boardwalk 108 Beach Street Santa Cruz, CA, 95060 United States (map)

The people of Gaza are cut off from food, medicine, safety, shelter, fishing and even swimming. We are peacefully coming together to create a literal and figurative red line in the sand for the most basic human rights in Palestine. It's simple - wear red and show up and we'll send a message that reaches Washington DC and all the way to Gaza to let them know we see them and stand for them.

Building from the very successful Red Line protests in Europe, we continue that red line locally. We'll meet at 6pm at the shoreline in front of the Boardwalk near the San Lorenzo River mouth. There, Indigenous Mono tribal member will lead with opening comments, prayer and a moment of silence then we'll line up onto the beach and become a red line in the sand, together. We'll stand in solidarity next to the sea and take photos and videos to send our message to other activists, Congress, and Gaza. The event is expected to end by 7pm.

Please share far and wide. If you aren't in the area, keep the line going by forming one on a shoreline near you!!

Sponsored by Indivisible Santa Cruz County and Barrios Unidos of Santa Cruz

Donate to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) founded in 1991 by concerned humanitarians in the USA, provides free medical care to thousands of injured and ill children yearly who lack local access to care within the local health care system.  Over the years, we've sent over 2,000 affected children abroad for free medical care, sent thousands of international doctors and nurses to provide tens of thousands of children free medical care in local hospitals, and provided tens of thousands of children humanitarian aid and support they otherwise would not get.
