Indivisible Santa Cruz County (ISCC) is participating in the nationwide Good Trouble Lives On. ISCC encourages you to participate in these actions because the fight to protect voting rights never ends. Right now, we’re witnessing a Jim-Crow-era effort from politicians and their billionaire friends to restrict our freedoms, silence our voices, and consolidate power.

On Saturday, July 18, from 10 to 11:15am, rally for voting rights on the courthouse steps, at 701 Ocean St., Santa Cruz. Music by the Bonny Ukes, speakers from ACLU and the County Clerk’s Office, information on how you can sign up to register voters, and how to host a Dining for Democracy event to raise funds for organizations that are getting out the vote across the nation.
Please be aware that a core principle behind Indivisible and all Good Trouble Lives On events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events. Good Trouble Lives On is a non-partisan weekend of action. Good Trouble Lives On requires that participants commit to not advocate for, endorse, or oppose any political candidate or ballot initiative.
Note, another Good Trouble event is also taking place Friday, 7/17, 4-6pm: Dispersed county-wide protests at intersections, on highway overpasses, and other locations across the county, organized by ISCC, Indivisible Pajaro Valley, and activist allies. You may join one of these confirmed locations or bring friends, neighbors, and family together in your own neighborhood, on your own street corner.

4pm-6pm, unless otherwise noted: Graham Hill Rd. & Highway 9; Ocean & Water; Soquel & Porter; 41st & Capitola Rd.; 7th Ave. & Brommer St.; Soquel Drive & State Park Dr.; High St. pedestrian bridge; La Fonda overpass; State Park Dr. overpass; Rio del Mar overpass (3:30-4:30pm); and Harkins Slough overpass (4pm-5:30pm)
